because little buddy likes to clean things...

so first buddy helped me give shadow a bath...

and then, because he is really into cleaning things right now, he washed the bathroom...

Keep him at it. According to my parent educator, kids develop this desire to be helpful at about three and keep it until they are five, unless we foster it. I have a hard time letting Theron help me because he's so slow, but I try to just slow down a little for him so that he keeps wanting to be helpful.

this is hilarious... I have a friend's kids over to play with max and all three of them are in my bedroom, dusting!

that's better than how max typically 'cleans' where he carries bathroom soap all over the house and rubs it into various surfaces. soap film all over the house!

and yep... i have a hard time with the slowing down to their speed and not wanting to just do it all myself so it will get done fast and well...

trying_to_slow_down!!!

isaiah has loved to follow after me cleaning since he learned to walk! and he loves to do it on his own too. i hope he keeps that interest. i give him his own spray bottle of water and a rag and he goes to town, and i don't worry about messes that way. and i direct him to doing things that won't break or dirty anything, like handing me dishes from the dishwasher or holding the dustpan when i sweep or using the attachment thingamabobs on the vacuum. i love cleaning with him. at school they sing a song about cleaning whenever it's time to organize the classroom and now he sings that whenever it occurs to him to clean - "clean up, clean up, now it's time to clean up!"

isn't it amazing how one tiny act of adorability just erases all of the monstrous things they do? :)

ps: your bathroom is identical to mine.

"i give him his own spray bottle of water and a rag and he goes to town,"
that is what I just started doing! (it leaves alot less of a trail than liquid handsoap)
