Thunder Thighs

So enough about shoulders...

When we were dating, my lover, in a moment of awe and admiration, referred to my hips as “Thunderous”. Apparently he was unaware of the negative connotation of “Thunder Thighs.”
HAHAHAHAHA!

And for your entertainment, Lucille Clifton’s brilliant poem,
"Homage to My Hips"

these hips are big hips.
they need space to
move around in.
they don't fit into little
petty places. these hips
are free hips.
they don't like to be held back.
these hips have never been enslaved,
they go where they want to go
they do what they want to do.
these hips are mighty hips.
these hips are magic hips.
i have known them
to put a spell on a man and
spin him like a top

g, you crack me up.

you must be the only woman in the western hemisphere willing to squeeze the inner part of her thigh into a heart shape, take a picture and then post it for the world to see.

actually, i'm glad you like the picture. it's good for the soul to see a part of your body that you usually dislike and realize, "hey, it's not so bad."

inner thigh... no, even I couldn't do that.
in this pic I am facing to the left, and squishing (hearting) the 'saddlebags' part of my hips.

but ya... still.

thanks!

What a great poem by Lucille. I just about love everything she has written.

Maybe it is time we embraced our thunder thighs and hips. :)

Your thighs are beautiful. Except in my 'hood, where you would definitely need to put on a few pounds or twenty to get that nice "thick" look that gets you complimented by totally hot random strangers (props to me! white boyz suck!)
